Inter Blue delivered an incredible 3-0 result against the Emek Yezreel in the IFLI Cup, the undefeated IFLI2 champions; the overall performance was nothing short of fantastic for everyone. There was great energy from the whole team starting from the warm-up all the way until the end of the match. Also, a great sense of togetherness as many of those who did not play showed up to support the team as well.

As for the match itself, we played a difficult opponent who went unbeaten the entire season and knocked Inter White out of the cup last week. In the first half, we defended very effectively in our low block, denying them many opportunities to get forward. They did cause some confusion sometimes with fluid attacking movement, but generally, we dealt with it very well. And when they did get through, their finishing was quite poor or Yoav Greenberg was there to make the save.

We were able to find the forward passes quickly from turnovers, which was key to us getting quick chances going forward. We also had some good success from balls over the top from our backline to our forward three who were causing them all sorts of problems with their speed.

We were very clinical with our chances. Our first goal came off of a free-kick, when Facu Cervigni took a wonderful shot over the wall, which the keeper just about managed to save. Daniel Geron was quick to react and tapped in the rebound to make it 1-0 and capped it off with a wicked front flip to celebrate.

Ten minutes or so later, we stuck then net once again. This time it was Facu, who was able to find the ball between their defensive and midfield line. He turned and dribble passed his mark and took a quick low shot to beat the keeper on his near post to make it 2-0.

The second half was a similar story. Although Emek had stretches of possession, these were mainly on their defensive third. We were very compact and showed a great understanding of how to press, disallowing them to break us down. As a result, Emek was mostly left trying their luck from outside of the box and did not threaten our goal very much.

And at about the midway point of the half, we put the game to bed by scoring yet another goal on our opponents. Kevin Packer found himself in a forward position and hit a ball, which went over the keeper and came off the cross bar. Nacho Duek then reacted quickest and tapped it home to make it 3-0 and put the game to bed.

Now, we look forward to an exciting round of 16 match against IFLI1 opponents, Sparta Ashkelon.
