Unbelievable scenes in what was one of the greatest games in the club's history. A game that had everything, goals, cards and lots of drama.
We hadn't performed well enough last week in terms of battling for the ball and that was the mission for this game. We came out strong and dominated play for the first 20 minutes with a number of chances that we didn't convert. On 22 minutes, Netanya had their first shot on goal and scored a beautiful chip. Again Inter dominated and created chances but couldn't finish them and a free kick 25 yards out put Netanya 0-2 ahead at half time.
They had 2 shots on goal and hardly got into our half for 45 minutes; the team was shocked we were losing but we knew we could turn it around and we talked at half time about getting the early first goal and putting that doubt in the minds of the opposition.
That's exactly what we did, came out strong and a good run by Wagner Manuel, found Ezequeil Lubocki on the edge of the box who slotted into the bottom corner just 4 minutes into the half for his first goal for the club. The game became a real scrap, lots of fouls, lots of clashes and lots more chances at both ends as the game became more open and Netanya looked nervous.
In the 80th minute an amazing run by Niv Gur, who passed the keeper and found Dan Geron to equalise with 10 minutes to go. We then piled on the pressure to find the winner and in doing so Netanya broke away with a 1 on 1, however, an amazing save by Ehud kept it at 2-2 with 5 minutes left.
A heated exchange then occurred on the sidelines of the pitch between the two sides as the French frustration increased. A last-minute corner, whereby Niv got a touch on to find Wagner in the box from 3 yards out who smashed it home and Inter get a last-minute winner to take all 3 points, scenes of elation from all in the Inter camp!
We now sit 3rd in the IFLI Division 2, having taken 4 points from our opening two matches.
Man of the match: Wagner 🔥
